►In addition to being accredited by the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), BA was also awarded accreditation through the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) in the fall of 2013.

►BA was recently recognized by SACS for 25 years of continuous accreditation.

►Over the past 20 years, BA has held a state championship in one or more sports.

►Archery was added as an extra-curricular activity during the 2013 – 2014 school year and they won the state championship in 2015.

►BA has increased our Dual Enrollment offering through Co-Lin from 9 hours of college credit to 23 hours

►In 2014, Garrett Smith was elected State MAIS Honor Society President

►In 2013, Matthew Evans was recognized by MAIS as Outstanding Honor Society President

►BA added new student organizations - Jr. Honor Society, Positive Choices Club, TeenAge Republicans, National Science Honor Society, and Junior Historical Society

►A Robotics Team was formed in 2015 and won several honors at MS State and Auburn University.

►For the 2014 – 2015 school year, both the 7th and 8th grade BA students placed 1st in the MAIS District Spelling Bee and advanced to the MAIS State Spelling Bee.

►In 2014 – 2015, Allison Livingston placed first in Co-Lin’s Art Competition.

►In 2014 – 2015, Anna Michael Smith and Allison Livingston made Honorable Mention in the MS History and Archives State-wide MS Museum Tile Competition.

►The first BA chapter of Teenage Republicans was established in the fall of 2012.

►24 BA students and 1 BA sponsor received Presidential Volunteer Community Service Awards.

►13 BA students and 1 BA sponsor received Gregg Harper Special Congressional Awards.

►11 BA students received scholarships from the Lincoln County Republican party.

►BA members of the Junior Historical Society were on the front line of the groundbreaking for the two Museums of MS and were awarded the Gold Shovel for their involvement.  This event was by invitation only, and BA was the only school awarded the shovel, which was signed by Gov. Phil Bryant.

►BA Junior Historical Society members competed in the Old Capitol Bowl for the first time last year and placed 5th.  This past year BA placed 3rd.

►In 2015, the BA Quiz Bowl team placed 3rd in the Bear Bowl Competition held at Soutwest Community College.  In 2011, BA placed 1st in the Quiz Bowl Academic competition and 2 BA students received academic scholarships for Co-Lin.  BA hosted and placed 1st in the MAIS Quiz bowl state competition.

►In 2014, BA had a 4th and 5th place winner at Colin’s Junior High Math Tournament. In 2015, BA had a 1st and 3rd place winner.

►BA students participated for the 2nd year in the Student Spaceflight Experiment Program in which the winning team’s experiment travels to the Space Station.  The winning team presents their experiment during the summer at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.

►Since 2005, BA’s Student Council has sponsored Pennies for Patients and raised a total of $47,195.56.  For 2015, BA was the 3rd top fundraising school out of 740 participating schools.

►BA added a new class for Seniors to aid with scholarship applications, college applications, business etiquette, resumes, etc.

►BA added personal finance class – Financial Fitness

►2015 - All school student records are now located in one secure records room.

►Expanded the PSAT testing to include some 10th graders

►Began giving the ACT to juniors and seniors at BA during a statewide MAIS testing day in Spring 2015

►Changed achievement testing for grades 3-10 in spring 2015 to the ACT Aspire test.

►A new cafeteria dining room was added and used for the first time during the 2014 – 2015 school year.  This new space allows BA students to eat lunch during an appropriate lunch time and is also used for faculty luncheons and the New Family Cookout.

►A multi-purpose building was completed and used for the first time during the 2014 – 2015 school year.  This building provides BA with opportunities for performing arts as well as additional classrooms, practice space for sports, and a locker room for visiting athletic teams.   During the 2014 – 2015 school year, this building hosted 3 elementary plays, a jazz recital, a Broadway production performed for elementary students, a performance by the Natchez Opera, talent shows, a New Stage Theater production, the K3/K4 end of the year program, K5 graduation, and the BA Athletic banquet.  This building has also been used in hosting 2 major basketball tournaments.

►An outdoor classroom was designed and constructed entirely through grant money and volunteer labor. 

►2015 Girls Track--entire team qualified for South State. Two girls, KK Jordan and Julianna Mills, placed in the overall state meet.

►2015--BA student, Heath Hickman, was named the Daily Leader's Football All Area Offensive Player of the Year.

►2015--BA student, Peyton Hood, was named the Daily Leader Basketball Player of the Year for the entire county.

►BA students selected to the MAIS All Star Teams:
Football--Garrett Pace, Basketball--Peyton Hood, Fastpitch Softball--Anna Smith, Anna Grace Covington, Baseball--Zach Dickerson and Alex Smith

►Many BA athletes in several sports received All District honors.

►Corey Dickerson, 2006 graduate, continues his professional baseball career with the Tampa Rays in 2016.
